It took me ALL morning (and some of the afternoon) but I’ve completely cleaned, dusted, vacuumed and organized the dining area!

Y’all, it was embarrassing. We’ve been accumulating baby stuff in the dining area for nearly a year now! There was a big bag of clothes (some of them he’s outgrown because I forgot all about them!) and stuff we got when I was still in the hospital or shortly after that sitting on the chair against the wall, plus a ton of mail and other junk on that half of the table. There were a couple of boxes full of stuff I got from my work baby shower and couldn’t use sitting in front of the microwave cart. (Which meant when you wanted to use the microwave, you needed to lean into it.) The “alcohol shelf” was also a dusty mess. I didn’t take a before picture, but it was a LOT worse than this:

The box currently under the table needs to be put in the walk-in closet, but I don’t see any point in doing that until I can clean that out.

I vacuumed out the intake vent to the left of the dining room and I could not BELIEVE how much dust came out of it. We were BREATHING that stuff. The thought never occurred to me to vacuum there before (I am NOT domestic… I have no idea how to clean) so now that I know, I’m going to do it regularly. I’d only ever dusted it off before.

Whew. I’m exhausted. Tomorrow I’m going to try to tackle the walk-in. I hope it doesn’t kill me.
