Okay Cindy, I get it! The litterbox hasn’t been cleaned in an entire 15 hours and you’re disgusted. Would you kindly stop hovering around the box and meowing at me any time I walk past the bathroom? You know the drill by now. And I don’t appreciate you coming out here to complain about the state of the box then running back to the bathroom to see if it’s been changed out yet.
I swear.
We even have a LitterMaid so it isn’t like there’s a whole bunch of disgusting stuff in the box itself. Just in the container that sits off the side of the box. This cat drives me nuts! If she had opposable thumbs I’m positive she’d clean the thing out herself any time a cat used it. We’ve thought about getting one of those “teach a cat to use the toilet” kits because I really think she’d take to it. I don’t want to have to deal with cleaning away litter from the toilet area though during the training stage1. She’s obsessed with the bathroom and I believe she spends most of her day in there. While Harmony likes to go in there and lay on the rug every once in a while and Leah loves playing in the tub and inbetween the shower curtain and liner, Cindy acts like it’s her own personal den. She sits on the toilet seat2, on the back of the toilet, hovers around the litterbox and watches herself in the full length mirror for hours. You’d think a stray would be a little bit less of a bathroom freak.
1 I didn’t know this until I looked into them more, but those train-a-cat-to-use-the-toilet kits basically have a litter pan you place under the toilet seat. Once the cat is used to going in the pan, you take it away and they’ll supposedly go straight into the toilet. I don’t really think I’d want to share a toilet seat with my cat though. Maybe if we had an extra bathroom.
2 With the cover down, of course. Otherwise she’d be halfway through toilet training!
3 There is no 3 up there, I fooled you – ha! I just really really love footnotes all of a sudden, can’t you tell?
