Low Angle Play Room

This week’s DPS Forum Assignment is “Low Angle“. This is a great one for me since I’m almost always on the ground taking photos. With a 50mm, you kind of have to get right in front of your subject.

I took these photos in the play room the other day with the theme in mind. No, I don’t think they’re my best work at all and not even very original. The important thing is that I’m actually working toward assignments again. I’ve been concentrating so much on photo editing (and obviously still am based on the appearance of these photos) that I haven’t put much into photography and that’s gotta stop if I want to end up with any photos I can be proud of. The assignment doesn’t end until 6/23, so I’m hoping to get some more Low Angle shots in before then.

Catching Up: Leah and the Grill

I don’t know if I’m coming or going anymore. I wound up skipping taking pictures for a couple of days and I didn’t even realize it! I haven’t been spending very much time actually trying to practice photography either, which I don’t like. This week’s DPS Forum assignment is “Low Angles” and I’m pretty sure I can put together a few pictures that fit that criteria! I need to start challenging myself more and actually learning something. I definitely don’t want to focus all my time on photo editing.

Here are some Project 365 photos I haven’t yet shared in one way or another on this site.

I think this was the day after Leah returned. I took lots of photos of her that day, so I must have been glad she was back.

05-22-10 - Walk Softly Noah

Walk Softly, Noah

This week’s Digital Photography School assignment (05/12-05/26) is Fences. I was excited for this simply because I knew it’d be easy enough for me to participate; I have a fence in my own back yard! (This may not seem like a big thing to you, but I haven’t had a fence in my backyard since I was 14.)

I lucked out in the morning as Mark took the boys outside to replant some flowers he bought last week. By the time I got outside with my camera, Noah had crawled across the yard to the fence. He was sitting beside it, eating grass and playing with sticks. Have I mentioned lately how much I love having a yard? I regret not renting a house from the time we had Elias because the whole family benefits greatly by having a nice space outdoors to call our own.
