Do you like taking pictures of your family and your life? Are you intimidated by some photography sites that assume a certain skill level?
At Daily Window, the goal is to inspire you to pick up your camera and try something new. No photography snobbery, special equipment or technical knowledge is required!
Hi. My name is Lynda!
I’ve always loved photography and having children made me realize the value of being able to take great pictures all the time. This triggered me to take out my camera and really learn how to use it. My passion for blogging, combined with my giddiness for photography caused me to create this site. I love helping others, especially when it comes to technical stuff.
Here’s a video!
This is my very first vlog! I learned a little from it and wrote some tips for YOUR first vlog. Join in the fun!
I don’t claim to be an expert at photography and certainly not Photoshop. I’m learning just like you!
Professionally, I’m an analyst and writer specializing for over ten years in technical training documentation and tutorials. I’m trained to present information clearly, minimizing confusion. The articles you’ll find on this blog reflect this.
If you ever have a question, please feel free to ask in the comments, on Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Formspring or anywhere else you might see me around the net. I’ll be happy to help or point you in the right direction.
Let’s both take a journey together to take better pictures!
Do you want to know more about me as a person? Check out my cleverly named, About Lynda page!

The Pictures On This Site
Unless otherwise credited on the article, all pictures on this site are taken by Lynda Giddens. (Moi.) If a photo has no credit under it or the surrounding text doesn’t indicate otherwise, it is taken by me.
The majority of photos displayed on this site are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial. You may copy and share with a credit to Lynda Giddens and link to http://www.digitalwoe.com. You don’t have to contact me first, but I love to know when my photos are used!
If you like my work, consider searching my Flickr library when looking for photos for your blog or other non-commercial purposes!
If you would like to seek commercial use of the photo, just contact me with details to discuss licensing fees.
Use of Others’ Work
If a photo has a credit under it, pay special attention to the copyright information!
I also use a lot of my husband‘s photos. He takes pictures pretty frequently and has been leaving the camera on manual and taking my guidance when setting up his shots. I think he’s a great photographer too! When I use his photos, I credit him and usually include a link to more entries featuring his photos.
For some articles, I use peers’ photos which are All Rights Reserved and I’ve been given specific permission to use the shot for that purpose by the artist.
For other articles I find Creative Commons or public domain images to use. These are indicated with a photo credit, the artist’s name and link. I take special care not to use stuff that isn’t licensed, so if you’re upset with my use of your photo, please let me know and I will take it down. (And also, please re-examine your open licensing of the photo.)
Disclaimer and Disclosure
This blog features a number of affiliate links and product recommendations. Please be aware if you click on a link from my site and buy the recommended product, I may be receiving a small commission on that item.
All my product and service recommendations are made from the heart. I would never endorse a company or product I didn’t love! My #1 goal with this blog is to help others become better photographers and I refuse to sell myself out or recommend irrelevant products to do that.
About digitalwoe.com
Perhaps you noticed the name of my site and its domain name are two entirely different things. I know this isn’t really considered the best marketing tactic. I bought the domain name in 2001 and it’s housed dozens of journals, blogs, forums and photo galleries in its time. The name of the content on this site has never really matched the domain name. It’s just how I roll.
