Maybe it’s because I’m so gosh darn sensible, but people I work with tend to get the impression that I don’t drink. As if I’ve chosen to live my life abstaining from alcohol.
Ha!
I don’t know what about me gives off that vibe, but it isn’t true. I enjoy a good alcoholic beverage from time to time. I’m not a big beer or wine drinker, though I love Mike’s Hard Lemonade in its many varieties. My favorite alcohol is tequila which I usually enjoy as shots and in mixed drinks. I’m not really the type to get drunk and I don’t drink often. I’ll admit, I drink more since having kids than I did before.
The other day Mark brought home this blue Mountain Dew Voltage which I’m surprised to learn came out in 2008 because I’d never heard of it before! It’s a fan designed drink of Raspberry Citrus with Ginseng. The color alone gave me a slight headache, but the flavor was really good, so I decided to mix some with Sierra Mist. (Did I mention soft drinks are my vice?)
Instantly I knew this combination would go great with alcohol! A few days later, I tried 2 parts Sierra Mist to 1 part Mountain Dew Voltage and added a shot of vodka to it. It was like a sweet cotton candy, fruity vodka drink delight!

Sounds yummy! I’ve been on a bloody mary kick lately and I don’t really know why. I think because I’ve been making them really spicey and I’ve also been on a spicey kick as well – jalapeno potato chips are a major vice. Gonna have to try this!

I’ve never tried a bloody mary before (or any tomato based drink). I’m very intrigued though – gotta try it soon!

Being 41 weeks pregnant, I’m extremely jealous of anyone with an alcoholic drink. I’m not a huge drinker, but I certainly miss the odd drink here or there. There are some days where a Long Island Iced Tea would go a very long way
