Thanks Ari! What editing program do you use? I have Photoshop CS3 and put textures into a new layer, usually in soft light or overlay blending mode and lower the opacity. I also use layer masks to erase the effect from parts of the photograph. There are a lot of resources out there to learn how to apply textures. Patti Brown makes textures and has several videos on how they can be applied. They are using her own textures and overlays of course, but the principle applies to any texture!

Thanks! I’m not sure her stuff is really geared toward photographers, but she has a lot of playful textures, like rainbow swirls and rainbow bokeh!

I recently visited your inspiration page and there’s lots of great resources there too, so thanks for that.
