Boa has been having a blast crawling all over the place. He loves following us around and exploring the house. Surprisingly, the only thing he gets into which he shouldn’t is the entertainment center and the trash can. I think in time he’ll learn those things are off limits.
When Mr. Serious started crawling, were were still living in our one bedroom apartment where everything was cramped. Not only was there no good space for moving around, but almost everything was a baby hazard. It’s so wonderful to be living in a spacious house now! It’s the cutest thing ever to see a little fuzzy Boa head peaking around a corner and then watch him laugh as he crawls speedily toward us.
Like Mr. Serious, he’s such an easy going baby! He goes with the flow and only cries if he’s hungry or hurt. Now that he’s mobile, he forces himself into a lot of Mr. Serious’ activities. Most of the time, Mr. Serious doesn’t like this and says, “No, Boa” or “My turn, Boa!” We try to encourage him to share and play with Boa, but I’m not going to force it. I know in time Mr. Serious will realize what a wonderful playmate Boa can be.
Sometimes Mr. Serious brings toys to Boa out of the blue, which is very endearing. He’ll carefully select just the right toy, then present it to him, “Here, Boa!” Other times, he wants what Boa is playing with and takes it from him. We don’t allow toy stealing so we give him the option of returning that toy to Boa or offering him something else.
Last night Mr. Serious was playing with a remote control dog toy and Boa found it absolutely fascinating. He kept going over to the toy trying to play with it, but Mr. Serious had no interest in sharing. When Boa reached him, he’d pick up the dog and take it to another part of the living room. Before long, Boa was back and the process repeated. After Mr. Serious refused to let him even touch the toy, Boa flapped his arms and let out one frustrated yelp before moving on to something else.
Site Notes and Meta
Facebook users: I will stop bugging people about this soon enough, but please consider going to my Fan Page for digitalwoe.com and clicking “Like” to receive updates.
Site Changes: I updated my about page and created a page for links, WordPress Plugins Used and sites I’m Currently Surfing through Google Reader.
Plugin Spotlight: If you’re using WordPress and you’re a Flickr junkie like me, you might be interested in the wonderful Live Flickr Comment Importer plugin. When a page is loaded, it detects all Flickr embedded images (that are under your account) and imports comments from those photos. There are some nice features, like Flickr avatar support and the ability to include a thumbnail of the photo with the comment if your posts usually have multiple photos in them. Here’s an entry with Flickr comments imported to show you how it’s applied.
Upcoming Feature: I had a lot of fun yesterday applying different Photoshop actions to photos of Boa taken in the same session. I was happy with the results. There are other free Photoshop action sets out there. In order to find some more actions for myself, I’m going to try starting up Action Tuesday which will highlight different actions weekly. If you know of any free action sites out there, please send me a link so I can test them out!

Thanks for mentioning the plugin – glad that you like it!
