I feel somewhat obligated to preface this week’s Body After Baby post by letting you know that I’m sipping on a Mike’s Hard Lemonade. Yesterday I ate some oreos. Every day this week I’ve had at least two cups of coffee with creamer. I confess all my caloric sins to you now and then I’m absolved from them; isn’t that how it works?
I’m not sure I succeeded in any of last week’s goals. In fact, I know I didn’t. I know I’m drinking more water lately, so I’m very close there. I totally got distracted and didn’t put together a meal plan, but Mark’s found a few nice new recipes for us to try. He’s making one of them now. Exercise is not my strong suit, but I’m happy to say I’ve done at least 30 minutes of exercise in the past 3 days. I may not be Biggest Loser material, but I’m doing better than before… that’s something, right?
My goals this week are simple:
- At least 30 minutes of exercise daily. Shoot for an hour.
- Drink at least two 32 oz bottles of water daily
- Make healthy choices
I’m really happy that I’ve started exercising daily and truly hope I will be able to keep it up. Fitting it into my day is proving to be a struggle and so far I wouldn’t have been able to do it at all without Mark’s help. I tried getting up an hour earlier this morning to exercise, but Noah just wasn’t happy with that decision. Mark had to get up with me to entertain him while I exercised. I’m grateful for that, but I don’t see Mark getting up at 6:30 every day.
I’ve been doing some yoga, which I’ve never really tried before. I can see the appeal! It takes a lot of concentration and really works out specific muscle groups. I’ve been feeling often unused muscles all day today and it feels good.
This week I’m down to 222.4 lbs, which is a 1.8 lb loss from last week and a 4.2 lb loss overall. A slow start, but any loss is a good one!

Wait, wait, WAIT. Are you saying that oreos and coffee with creamer are NOT healthy choices?
Way to blow MY breakfast plans for the week!
(It sounds like you are making some great headway! Certainly more than I am on this 8 week challenge.
Keep up the hard work! We’re already 25% done!)
Thanks! Oreos and coffee with creamer sounds like a delicious breakfast to me…
I hope that you have a blessed week. Hang in there and your dedication will pay off. Congrats on your loss so far. Sounds like you are headed in the right direction!
Thank you!
Any loss is a good loss. Maybe we can make some sort of subset of our june community for june weight loss. Not sure how to do it, but I’d love a community of people kind of pushing me. Not sure about you. I know not everyone is motivated that way. What do you think? (I only ask because you’re head of the community and know how communities work.)
Anyhow, I’m so proud of you! Even with your “sins,” you still managed weight loss. That’s darn good. Fitting in exercise is killer. Can you do any during your lunch break at work? I’m not sure what your day is like.
Long comment basically saying one thing: Keep up the good work!
Nice work on the weight loss!!! Isn’t it nice to see that number get lower and lower? And props on increase your exercise, every little step helps so yes you do deserve BIG PROPS for that change.
Thank you! Exercise is really difficult for me to fit in, but I need to get in the habit while I’m motivated!
Good for you! You’ve inspired me to try and work out more often.
Im not a huge fan of Yoga, i mean…i am…but I can never make myself do the videos. I’m going to try hooping but as of right now I’ve just been running on the treadmill which I find very boring.
Hooping is a great way to exercise! It gets you moving and isn’t hard on your body (well, I’ve had bruises in odd places, but that’s better than spraining something). I definitely recommend it to anyone interested.
Glad to know I am not the only one who struggles with the healthy eating. Sure, I make the meal plans, but sticking to it is another matter in itself.
Way to go on the improvements in your life!
