I’ve been updating on Facebook so much, I’m not sure I’ve even mentioned this yet. My anatomy scan is scheduled for next Thursday. I’m still conflicted over whether or not to find out the sex, but I am leaning toward finding out.
With Elias, I thought it’d help me bond with him beforehand to know his sex and have him named, but it really didn’t. I did like having the name ready to go without any thought though. I do not like the idea of picking out a boy and girl’s name to be prepared for either eventuality. Picking out Elias’ name felt like a huge responsibility and I would have to make that decision twice and then discard one of the names. This is probably the biggest reason I want to find out.
I’ve been feeling the baby kick away daily since the day I turned 20 weeks. This is a big difference from when I was pregnant with Elias and didn’t feel daily movement until closer to 24-26 weeks (I have it documented, but I’m too lazy to look it up).
I won a $100 gift code for Amazon.com from a panel I’m part of and I’ve been having a VERY difficult time deciding what to spend it on! So far, this is what’s in my cart:
That’s $62. I don’t have to worry about shipping because we subscribe to Amazon Prime. I’m not dead set on books or anything, I just can’t figure out anything else I might want. I am interested in birth books, but I have a BUNCH already that talk about the technicalities of natural birth and birth methods and I’m not too interested in reading a lot of books about the broken medical model in the U.S. right now. (I’m interested in the topic, but trying not to surround myself with much negativity.) I’m more concerned with either novels where birth is featured naturally (preferably at home with a midwife, such as The Birth House) or non-fiction books with positive natural birth experiences. If you have any suggestions along those lines, I am happy to receive them!
As you can see, I also have a bunch of journaling books there. I want to get back to recording my life on paper. I’ve done an excellent job of making an online record of my life these past 9 years, but printing that would be a pain and probably expensive.
Changing topics entirely, anyone else watch Lost on Wednesday? Daniel’s character is totally awesome. I can’t wait to learn more about that. This episode had more horrific scenes in it than ever before. Who places sharp knives face up in the dishwasher like that!? Who puts knives that sharp in the dishwasher to begin with? You’re not supposed to put good knives in the dishwasher. Still, it was one of the more unique death scenes I’ve ever seen on TV. The part with the flaming arrows was a bit too much for me.
I loved Sawyer with his, “Give me your shirt!” to Daniel and “Who’s shirt is this!? Can I have it!?” on the beach. Sawyer has gone shirtless for much of the last four seasons, so why is he itching to put on a shirt now?
It’s interesting to me that Locke might get to the Oceanic 6 only a few days later in island time due to the skipping. I’m curious what horrible things that Jack could have prevented are going to happen or how their going back is going to fix anything at all. Why did Ben let Jack leave if his being there was so important to the island? Is Sun going to go back without her child? The Oceanic 6 might also get back to the island only a few days later in island time. So it’s possibly they might have aged three years while those on the island only aged a few days.
Daniel!!!!! I love his character. How much does he know about the island and how did he come to learn of it. What is he going to do in the Orchid station and when in relation to the present timeline does he do it? In their past or future? Maybe one of the jumps lands them all in “Marvin Candle”’s time and Daniel tries to gain access to the wheel to stop them from skipping. And how does “Candle” know so much about the island’s properties? Speaking of him, it’s interesting to see that the weird jumps in the films might be to interruptions during filming and shoddy editing.
The Others are part of the island, or heavily connected to it since they are moving with the island in time (or staying with the island as the Losties move back and forth in time). Since the Oceanic 6 have to go back and can never return, are The Others going to accept them on the island? If so, what will be the new enemy?
What’s going on with Charlotte? She thinks she was born on the island. What’s causing her nose to bleed? The only times I’ve remembered seeing noses bleed like that were when the character turned out to be dead. Maybe they skipped to a point in time where Charlotte was dead? (I don’t think that’s very likely since it seems to be ongoing or getting worse.)
How is Daniel’s mother going to be able to help Desmond?
Are there any other major questions I’m missing? I don’t even want to think about that weird woman in the church Ben went see or what the machine in the basement did or why “woe is the world” if Ben doesn’t get everyone back in 70 hours. Speaking of Ben, why on earth did HE go see Hurley!? He had to have known that Jack would better be able to influence Hurley. He’s smart. That seems fishy.
