We went out to dinner with Elias tonight, to a buffet down the street. The buffet was mediocre, but the owner seemed nice. Her son was wandering around the dining room helping out where he could. He concentrated a lot of time passing our table; he likes babies, as his mom confirmed when we were paying the bill. Elias loved watching him and smiled at him frequently. As we left, he shook Elias’ hand and said, “Bye baby!”
He was in an excellent mood today and babbled throughout most of the evening. Teyla was going crazy trying to get us to play with her (she pulled about 5 different toys out of her toy box) so we let Elias play tug-of-war with a colorful toe sock we stuffed a cat jingle ball into and tied off. Teyla was definitely more cautious playing with him than she is with us. Elias absolutely loved it, though I am not sure what aspect of the game he most liked.
He remained playful and awake until 8:15 or so! We’ve been trying to extend his bedtime to 8pm, but most nights he can’t make it past 7:30. It was a good night. He’s at such a fun, happy age.
