When Mark and I were in Texas, we picked out day calendars. He got one where you can make a different paper airplane every day. He made me get one where you do a different Oragami project every day. I felt a little self conscious about using it at work because my coworker is Japanese and likes Oragami and is probably very good at it and I don’t want to seem like a wannabe. Mark insisted that it would be fun and if my coworker noticed it, she’d probably think it was cool that I was taking an interest in Oragami.
I’m glad he talked me into it because it’s kind of challenging and fun. So far I’ve made a fox, nightingale and a puppy dog head and body which are all sitting on my desk. Today’s project is a two parter – $2 pantsuit with the shirt being made today and the pants being made tomorrow. I don’t think I want to give up two dollar bills, so I might skip it.
My only complaint about this calendar is that you use the previous day’s page to make the current day’s Oragami project. Which means once the next day comes, my instructions and ability to recreate the previous day’s project is gone.
