Kicking!

Yesterday started out pretty horrible, but once Mark and I got home from work, we had a wonderful night!

I should preface this by saying our little boy has been a mad kicking machine these past few days. It’s definitely been easier to tell when he’s active and it’s finally transitioned from flutters and light pokes to full blown kicks. For maybe the past week I’ve been able to feel him kick lightly from the outside, but he was never kicking consistently enough for Mark to be able to feel.

Last night we were sitting on the couch watching Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader (I’m so not) and he started his usual evening activities. I was quite relieved as he’s normally active in mid-morning and after I’ve had lunch in the afternoon, but earlier yesterday I didn’t feel him much at all. I sat there with my hand on my tummy and felt him kick a few times. The kicks were happening above my belly button this time, which was a first. Then, I actually saw my belly move where he kicked! It was amazing!

I got Mark’s attention and he put his hand on my stomach and waited to feel something. Baby was kicking away, so it wasn’t long before Mark felt him for sure! He even said he thought he felt something swipe against his hand. Mark also got to see my tummy move when another big kick came.

It was such an amazing moment and it’s only going to get cooler from here.
