Trick-Or-Treat!

I finally added my Vox neighborhood to the feeds I watch so if you write over there, I will no longer be clueless about it. I’m not sure what took me so long.

Mark apparently upgraded Firefox and the spell-check kicks ass. It does it automatically in the text field and you just right click to change out words, similar to Gmail. Had I known it was this user friendly, I would have upgraded before!

I stepped on the scale this morning and was up a pound from last Friday, no doubt because of all the junk I’ve consumed lately. I’m sure my nearly 1000 calorie meal at Arby’s the other day didn’t help in the least. So whatever. I’ll try to do better today and Thursday and hopefully I can at least break even when I weigh in on Friday. I’m going clothes shopping with my mother on Saturday, so I’d rather not be going up in weight, even if it is only a pound.

We had two knocks on our door last night. In the past three years, we’ve never had trick-or-treaters come by, so this surprised us. We had no candy, so we didn’t open the door. Mark said we should open the door and shake some Ice Breakers and Tic Tacs into their bags, but that would just be rude. Halloween is my favorite holiday and I can’t wait until we live in a house and can actually decorate for it and receive trick-or-treaters. I love to see the parade of costumes. I don’t even mind teenage trick-or-treaters because why should they miss out on all the fun? You’re only a kid once.

The last time I went trick-or-treating was when I was 13. I was staying the night at a friend’s house and we were taking her little brother around. Even though we had no costume, people wanted to give us candy. So we went back to her house and shared a witch’s hat as our costume and then used it as our trick-or-treating bag. It was the most fun I’ve ever had trick-or-treating although I still would have preferred staying back and handing out candy.

I’ve started to import some of my older entries into Livejournal. It took about an hour to do three, so I think this project is going to take for-freaking-ever! Perhaps since I’ll be updating every day, I’ll just start by importing that day’s entry every year I wrote one. I hate doing stuff out of order, but by January 1 I should have at least November and December 1999-2005 completely imported over here. I think that’s the plan I’m going to go with for now.

I’ve tried a couple of times to export all my LJ content as a LJ Book, but every time I try, there are too many users to process my request. I guess if I really want it, I’ll have to donate.

Anyway, I really ought to be getting ready for work. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

Try using a downloadable LJ program. I changed all my public entries to friends only using LJ.Net. Made it REALLY easy to access my old entries…maybe you can back date with the program too?

Sorry for being dense. What downloadable LJ program? Will it download all my entries, pictures and comments so I can export it into a separate file? From what I’ve heard, LJ Book is about the only thing that will allow you to export comments.

I simultaneously love and hate that spell-check feature in firefox. Sometimes it’s really annoying but kind of handy. But that’s why I use Opera most of the time :)

Well, I might be a little dense because I have NO idea if there is a way to export (I’ve never required anything that complicated)…but the page has an FAQ. Here’s a link. http://www.livejournal.com/download/
There are a bunch of different programs, so there is probably at least ONE that does what you’re looking for.

Thank you so much! I’ll look into that. If nothing else, it might make it easier to add my older entries.

Dude. LJbook is cool! Too bad none of us can ever access the server.

Note to self- go update Firefox.I need all the spelling help I can get.
